Sustainability

A Practical Approach to More Sustainable Manufacturing

P&P Industries is committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations while supporting responsible, reliable manufacturing for our customers. Our sustainability efforts focus on the areas where our facility and processes have a measurable impact, including energy use, water consumption, waste reduction, and recycling.

We track performance, set annual goals, and continue investing in operational improvements that support both environmental responsibility and long-term manufacturing efficiency.

Our 2030 Sustainability Goals

P&P Industries has established a goal to reduce water waste, greenhouse gas emissions, and landfill waste by 30% by 2030. Progress is supported through ongoing reporting and facility initiatives focused on reducing consumption and diverting material from landfills.

Current initiatives include:

  • Tracking energy use, CO₂ emissions, water consumption, and landfill waste
  • Recycling paper, cardboard, unusable plastic parts, and regrind
  • LED lighting throughout the facility
  • Continued conversion from hydraulic to electric injection molding presses
  • Participation in ComEd’s Strategic Energy Management program

Measurable Progress

Recent improvements are already contributing to P&P Industries’ sustainability goals.

In 2025, P&P Industries reported 19,300 gallons in water savings compared with 2024 and a 64,760-pound reduction in landfill waste compared with the previous year. The company also recycled 119,098 pounds of plastic during the year through its plastic parts and regrind recycling efforts.

P&P Industries has also continued transitioning our molding fleet toward electric technology. From 2017 through 2025, we added 15 electric presses, bringing the facility to approximately 70% electric presses. Electric equipment supports lower energy consumption while reducing noise and eliminating risks associated with high-pressure hydraulic oil.

Accountability and Continuous Improvement

Environmental performance is treated as an ongoing operational responsibility at P&P Industries. Leadership evaluates sustainability performance, team members are engaged in improvement efforts, and resources are allocated toward annual environmental goals. We also maintain a commitment to applicable environmental laws, regulations, obligations, and company policies.
